Week 15

Hey everybody! Hows it going? Well im out here on the mish. Its been a solid 26 degrees all week. So its been kinda nice hah. Ive killed 64 cucarachas. Theres been a ton this week, but no more in my bed, haha. Good week this week lots of good stuff happened

First, Guillermo got confirmed into the church and was super happy about it. Guy is super low key and doesnt really show his emotions that much. But yesterday, you could tell that he was Stoked to be a member of the church.

Second, this member Named Jordy. he reciently converted to the church. He is 19 and all his friends are thuggy Gangsters hah. His family is not a fan of the church. And a ton more of problems in his life, but i mean thats the life. He has been preparing to go to the temple and He is super great person, hes had a ton of friend killed in shootings and stuff, and he asks us, "would it be fine if i did their temple work?" and this week were going to go to the temple with him so he can go do work for his dad, who passed away years or so ago. God always wants to bless his children (us) and especially when we do good things, a miracle in the life of this family, is that they have enough money and food, and even enough that they could build their house outta bricks, instead of wood. good stuff.

Also our investagador Bryan, he quit smoking cold turkey after talking to him about the Word of wisdom, and he has not looked back, and is ready for his baptism this saturday. God always is wants to bless us, you Know?

Hope yall have a nice week.

Week 14

Hey, hows it going? My weeks been good. ive killed 47 cucarachas so far. but its not enough. in the middle of the night on sunday, i woke up with one climbing on me, ugh. I was kinda mad, it was at two, and i had to fight this sucker until he finally got tired enough that i could catch him and throw him into the other room. Lifes good here haha.

So Guillermo got baptized this week! Which is a huge success for him. He did some things that were pretty crazy due to his use of drugs and alcohol and didnt think he´d be able to be baptized very soon, but he had an interview with the pres of the mission and was told he was good to be baptized. Talking with Guillermo after this made me really happy for this huge step in his life and that he was able to repent of everything that he had done. Like, i was super happy for him and i cant even imagine how good he felt. At his baptism was a lady named Yohanna, and she wants to learn about the church and we didnt even invite her, she just kinda showed up, miracles are always happening out here its crazy.

Another miracle is our investagador Bryan, dude got kicked out, or left his house because of family issues, and moved in with his aunt and their family, He has a super huge desire to change. He used to be super into drugs and stuff, but now he only smokes cigs and when we met with him yesterday we taught the word of wisdom which means dont do things to your body that are bad, like drugs and unhealthy food, good stuff. He said to us, after learning that, "shoot, thats super cool. When i first met with you guys i had this crazy feeling that i should stop smoking and i only smoke 3 cigs a day" (he was smokin a pack) so yeah, miracles left and right out here.

Love yall

Week 13

Hey everybody, how it going? Hope yall are enjoying snowy january. Im out here in the heat, but actually it got down to 17 degrees here last night, which is like 68 degress. and i was super cold. Which is a problem, cause 68 is nothing haha.

Well, my week was kinda strange, we had a ton of rejection. I dont feel down or discouraged or anything. But it was kinda interesting. With our investagador Guillermo, he could get baptized yet cause hes gotta figure things out first. tellin him this was pretty tough, but oh well, he wants to keep imporving so were gonna help him with that.

We met a cool family this week or last week i dont remember exactly haha. but, super cool, loved the message and wanted to be baptized and they told us that they wanna come to church. They didnt have a church, but are very open to hearing about jesus. we didnt even invite, they said that they were planning on attending church. but, we call them sunday and they said, "oh hey, we got invited to another church, and were going there now" gee, that was almost like getting broken up with.

But, on sunday were at church, and this random guy is there and is super stoked about the church and participating in lessons. And were gonna meet with him today and see how its all going. And the best part was all of church was about prophets and the restuaracion and he loved it. So that dude, Bryan, was just a little sign to me. Like you can have a ton of problems, but God will help you out before the end.

Talk to yall next week

Week 12

Hey everybody. Happy new year! My new years eve was fantastic. I was in the house by ten and finnished my laundry by 11. Woke up at 12 cause of all the bombs, well fireworks hah. Oh. and i bought some new soap for my laundry, so that smells really nice haha.

So this week some interesting things happend. So my compy is the new District leader, we had intercambios? trades? i dont know how to call it in english. But it was cool. hung out with elder viera dude likes to have fun and work hard so it was fun. but over all the coolest thing is what happpened with a dude named Guillermo.

So dude is a recovering alcoholic for 2 years sober. and is super interested in the gospel. We had a lesson with him a few days ago, but before that i had a feeling that i should study the word of wisdom. For all who dont know what that is, it means that you dont do things to your body that are harmful and in return youll have wisdom and strength. So wek went to teach him the lesson and he has a smoking problem, and so my random studying of this topic really cam in handy. So i was able to teach fluiently in spanish what this meant to me. He was ssuper receptive and is being baptized later this week. Just gotta say, thats neat right?

Well thats pretty much it. short as usual. Have a good week.

Week 11

Hey Yall. Merry Christmas. Im sure you guys had a great time in the snow. I got a little bit of rain. so that was nice. I actually didnt miss home too much.. Until i called my parents, but its fine. lol I had a lot of cool members who wanted to cook for me. I had 5 different meals. It was great and it was some fun.

This week was an okay one, there was good and bad. Firstly, Xiomara and Moises got baptized and confirmed. that was a great success. I know that their decision to follow Jesus will make them so happy. And Xiomara brought a friend to church who is interested in the goespl so well be working with her this week.

Three of my investagadores told us that theyd rather not continue with learning about the gospel. And were kinda rude about it. So obviously i was mad, like why would they do this? Like, they just were rude. i don´t know. But then i thought about what i was feeling. And i don´t think that i was really mad. I was more sad for them, because they chose to reject our message. And the thing is, is that the reason im out here, or all missionaries are serving. Is to bring the Joy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to other people. And Gee wiz, ill tell yall, This gospel that im a part of brings me a ton of happiness.

Welll, My letters are always short. (sorry mom lol) but, thats it. thats whats in my brain today.

Love.
